Carr family in 1841 census

Carr Family in 1841 Census

Recently was searching for information on ancestry for Charles Carr and family.  In the 1851 census they were in Smethwick, Staffordshire.  My Great-Great grandmother was born in Smethwick in November 1850.  The previous child was born in Worcestershire in 1845 so thought in 1841 they would possibly be in Worcestershire.

From ancestry they were in Worcestershire, but at Yardley which is now part of Birmingham,
Loooks like at Yardley in 1841 and back on Worcestershire in 1845 when the only son of the family named Richard was born at Pershore.  Family at Smethwick by 1851.

Charles Carr was from Inkberrow, Worcestershire and two other children born in Worcestershire prior to Richard being born,

Mary Ann Addison

Mary Ann Addison
Mary Ann was the oldest child of 6.  The daughter of William Addison and his wife Sarah formerly Carr.  Mary Ann was born in 1871.  I didn't know about Mary Ann when I fist started researching the Addison family.

My Great-grandmother was the youngest child born in 1884.  And the only other girl in the family all the others were boys.  From the 1881 census there was William, Charles, George only with their parents.
By the next census in 1891 the father William had died and showed 2 more children.  Fanny my Gt-grandmother and Oliver born 1881.

Only found Mary Ann after started research done on the Carr family.  She was with her grandparents the Carrs at most of the censuses.  But they lived very near to the Addison family sometimes only a couple of doors away.
Then I checked the birth indexes and got the certificate for Mary Ann.
Always worth checking for other members of the family.

William Addison

My ancestor William Addison was born in Shropshire in 1851 and baptised at childs Ercall.   I had problems finding his birth record in GRO records.  His parents marriage was registered at Market Drayton shortly before his birth.  The baptism was on family search on the IGI.  Which is how I found it.

Childs Ercal

Childs ercall Shropshire parish records.
Working on the parish records.  My great great grandfather was baptised at childs ercall. Records held at Shropshire archives at shrewsbury.   Wanted to go there and look at records.  Prior to this copied notes from family search.  Added to a spreadsheet for information.
I went to visit the archives last September and looked at these records.  Always good idea to check the origionals to confirm.
